Cross Country Update
Updated 8th Jan : Map now available from SA website, and New Start Times.
The third and final East District League Meeting takes place at Broxburn on Saturday 18th January. See the Event Page for more details.
This event is always well attended by Lothian members and with the Senior Womens team currently in 2nd position in the league (only 20 points behind Fife AC) it should again prove popular. The first race for under 11 girls starts at 12.00pm, with the final race for Junior/Senior/Vet men at 2.15pm. Note there are are slight changes to the start times for this race.
Full details will shortly appear on the Scottish Athletics website http://www.scottishathletics.org.uk/calendar/events/16715-16088-east-district-cc-league-3 together with a map of the course. You can enter on the day – look out for the club’s banner near the start/finish area, make sure that you report in at the club’s tent at least 30 mins before your race, pay your entry fee and pick up your number.
At a recent committee meeting it was decided to slightly increase the entry fees for competing for the club at cross country events in 2014, due to the increased cost of entry fees the club must pay. The cost will be £3 for Seniors and £2 for Juniors (U17) – still good value for money.
Entries are now being taken for the Scottish Masters (open to men and women over 40) Cross Country Championship which will be held at Hawick on Saturday 1st February – details are on the Scottish Athletics Website http://www.scottishathletics.org.uk/calendar/events/16725-16102-scottish-athletics-national-masters-cc-championships. If you wish to enter please send an e-mail to kenmearns@aol.co.uk or a text to 07951062053 with your name, SAL number and date of birth. Sign-up sheets are also on the club’s notice board at Craigswood. Entries close on Saturday 18th January.
