7th place finishes for Chloe & Max in Dundee
Max McNeil and Chloe Cox were Lothian Running Club’s top placed finishers at the Scottish Athletics East District Cross Country Championships which were held at Camperdown Park in Dundee. The first time in 31 years that the city has hosted the event.
Both finished in excellent 7th places in their respective Senior Men’s and Women’s races. In the Women’s race Chloe led the club ladies team to 8th place covering the 5 mile course in 24m 54s, following her home were 20th Jo Hall, 59th Lana Turnbull, 62nd Christine MacVarish, 66th Lynne Murray. The overall winners of the women’s race was the team from Hunters Bog Trotters
There was a good turn-out of 11 runners from the club in the Mens 6 mile event, with the first six home counting towards the team points, they were 7th Max McNeil, 78th Colin Partridge, 83rd Euan McInnes, 110th Daniel McLaughlin, 114th Graeme Ackland, 117th Donald Shaw, these performances placed the club’s men’s team in 10th place behind winners Corstorphine AAC.
The only junior runner in action was Cara McCafferty in the Women’s Under-17 4 mile race where she finished 22nd in 28m 54s.
