MELROSE TITLE & COURSE PB FOR EDEL

MELROSE 13.1K ROAD RACE

 Lothian Running Club’s Edel Mooney broke the course record on her way to winning the Melrose 13.1km Road Race in the Borders on Sunday.

The race which starts at Melrose Railway Station sees the runners head out to a mostly uphill and undulating first six miles of the race before heading back downhill for the remaining two miles of flat road running finishing back at the railway station.

Edel’s time of 53 minutes 24 seconds was 2 minutes quicker than the previous best for the course.Full results were not to hand at time of writing, however Shona Young made it a club 1 – 2 in the Women’s category, also representing the club in the race were Jill Horsburgh, Paul Young, Brian Reid, Mike Lieberman and Fraser Welsh.
