CHLOE RETAINS TITLE WITH SINGLE SECOND PB

Chloe Cox retained the women’s title at Saturday’s Penicuik 10k. In doing so the Lothian athlete recorded a new PB for the distance by a mere one second, Chloe’s time of 38 minutes 07 seconds was one second quicker than the time she recorded in the same race in 2012.

With it being a counting race towards the clubs internal championship, there was an excellent turn-out of 10 blue vests on show, leading home the male contingent was Scott Nelson who followed up his fine run in the recent Scottish 5k championship by finishing in 20th position in 38 minutes 30 seconds, John Malcolm was just behind in 26th place in 39m 08 seconds. Following Chloe over the line in the women’s race was Jocelyn Moar in 4th and Leanne Webster 17th.

Lothian ladies have now claimed the female title three years in a row, with Chloe’s 2 wins being preceded by Edel Mooney’s triumph in 2011.
