Club Championship Update – Post-National Road Relays
I’ve updated the Senior results spreadsheet following the National Road Relays at the weekend.
https://www.lothianrunningclub.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/Club-Championships-Results-2013.xlsx
Some stats below…
- We’ve had 43 runners total across the three events so far
- Colin P is the only runner to have completed all three events so far
- 13 runners have completed two events
- We’ve also had 22 runs at the Edinburgh Parkrunners in March (unless I’ve missed any)
Note that the National Road Relays is easily the most complicated aspect of the club champs as a ratio has been used to compare long and short legs. Based on the calculations*, Sarah and Max posted our best runs of the day – well done guys.
I am open to protests on the NRR points allocations if you can demonstrate any reason why the calculations are unfair! Drop me a note with your explanations/complaints/mild abuse and I’ll happily consider your views 🙂
Thanks
John
*So, how is this calculated? I took the fastest three times for long legs (for all clubs) and added them together. I then did the same for the fastest three short legs. The total time for long legs was then divided by the total time for short legs giving a ratio of 189% (men) or 188% (women). The short leg times taken by our club’s runners were then multiplied by the ratio and compared to long leg times by our runners. Championship points were awarded to runners with the lowest long leg time.
