PB’s GALORE AT ”ROUND THE HOUSES”

Following on from fine performances the previous week in the Alloa Half Marathon it was more of the same from Lothian Club members in Sunday’s 47th ”Round the Houses” Jim Dingwall Memorial 10k Road Race from Grangemouth Stadium.

Despite the severe wind chill, five of the club’s representitive’s in the race recorded new PB’s. The first club runner home in 75th position was John Malcolm in [38m 37s], he was closely followed in 84th by Kenton Jones [38m 53s]. Only 21 seconds seperated Euan McInnes [40m 23s] in 118th and Alan Moffat [40m 44s] in 123rd. All the aforementioned runners recorded new PB’s. Pol McDonald completed the course in 42m 46s with the club’s only female participant in the race Shona Young finishing 243rd overall and 48th female in a time of 45m 28s which was also a new PB. Kenny Mearns in 356th place was the final blue vest home in 48m 15s.

21 year old Robbie Simpson, Deeside Runners was the victor in the Men’s Race with a new PB of 30m 54s with 51 year old Fiona Mathieson Falkirk Victoria taking the Women’s title in 35m 34s. A total of 690 runners completed the course.
