Club Championship

The club currently holds an annual Cross Country Championship based on the overall results from the cross country season – see details in U&R_Oct12

The idea of extending this to an overall club championship which covers various different types of races throughout the year has been the subject of some discussion at recent committee meetings, and the overall feeling is that this would be a good idea.  Several races would be nominated as championship races, and to qualify you would need to run in a certain number of these races through the year.

The hope is that this would encourage a healthy bit of competition within the club, but more importantly, by focusing on certain events provide a great opportunity for club members to meet and compete together.  As a great example, consider the success of the recent promotion of the Falkirk parkrun to coincide with Lana’s 50th run.

The exact format of the championship has not been decided, but will be a similar format to that of other clubs. We wold like to hear your thoughts, and in particular we want to hear your suggestions for what races should be included in the championship. Let’s hear your suggestions along with your reasons why.
