CLUB TRIO COMPLETE GRUELLING ‘FLING’ RACE

Lothian Running Club trio Alan Robertson, Jim Alexander and Mags Turnbull were among the brave 254 runners who completed Saturday’s[24th April] Montane Highland ”Fling” Race.

The 53 mile Ultra Marathon course covers the Southern part of the West Highland Way from Milngavie to Tyndrum.

Despite earlier adverse weather forecasts conditions were very much ideal for this gruelling event.

The first Lothian runner home was Alan Robertson who finished in 113th place in 11 hours 11 minutes and 26 seconds, this also placed him 14th SV.

Jim Alexander was timed at 13:54:11 for 237th with Mags Turnbull a further five places behind 242nd in a time of 14:16:15.
