Hill running internationalists dominate Dechmont Trail race
Scottish Hill Running internationalists James Waldie, HBT and Charlotte Morgan, Carnethy Hill Runners were the clear cut winners of the male and female categories in the annual Dechmont Law 10k Trail Race in Livingston.
Morgan, who last year was the surprise winner of the World Long Distance Hill championship in Poland actually finished runner up behind Waldie in the overall classification.
Waldie crossed the finish line in 35 minutes 56 seconds just over 3 minutes ahead of Morgan and over 4 minutes clear of his nearest male pursuer who was Ryan Kirkland from the host Lothian Running Club.
42 year old Morgan was an emphatic winner of the female category finishing over 5 minutes ahead of runner up Mairi Watts Linlithgow AC with Hilary Robertson, Canisports in third. Mhairi Inglis led home the Lothian ladies in 5th place.

The first three male and female finishers in the associated 3k were Male-1st Duncan Robertson 10.43 2nd Murray Close 11.57 3rd Murdo Robertson. Female-1st Cath Ferry 13.23 2nd Kara Moffat 13.24 3rd Shannon Prevost 13.39.
18 runners age from 2 years to 11 years ran the Fun Run first boy and girl to finish was Danny Fletcher and Eilidh Turner.
The leading Lothian RC Veteran Male and Female winners; Al Aitken and Andrea Seabrook ; were presented with the Helen Macdonald and Mike Turnbull trophies.
