.Inglis siblings keep winning races in the family

THE 20th Edinburgh Park Run kept it in the family last weekend as Lothian Running Club siblings Robert and Sarah Inglis sealed a superb one-two.
A record nine athletes from the club took part in the Edinburgh waterfront race but it was the Inglis brother and sister pair who took the top prizes.
Robert and Sarah finished first and second to claim the overall male and female top prizes, leading home 205 runners in the process.
Robert completed the 5k course in 16 minutes 11 seconds which was just short of his PB.
He was followed over the line by his sister Sarah who was making her park run debut.
Sarah, recorded a PB for the distance as well as setting set a new course record for a female athlete with a time of 16 minutes 37 seconds.
Another race first timer Alistair Robertson finished in fifth place in (16:54).
Further race debutants Max McNeil (17.22) and Scott Nelson (17.41) came next in ninth and 13th places.
John Malcolm crossed the finish line in 19.08 for 26th place while Lana Turnbull — the club’s most regular participant at the capital parkrun — entered the 10 Club and recorded yet another PB (19.45) in finishing 44th overall and third female.
Chris Rumbles got round in 20.41 for 59th place.
Bethany Nelson was an excellent 90th in her first run at the event, this placed her eighth female overall and first in her (F14) age group category.
There was another good turnout of nine club members at Sunday’s Lasswade 10 mile race.
There were some fine individual and team performances with the Women’s trio finishing in third place and the men fifth.
First club runner home was Ross Milne in a fine fourth place in 54 minutes 14 seconds.
Next came Scott Nelson in 27th and seventh MV.
The third counting team member was Scott Balfour in 46th and fifth MV50 (65:44).
The remaining club male finishers were 88th Alan Robertson (70:31), 91st David Bathgate (70:46), and 92nd Mike Lieberman (70:56).
Lynne Murray led home the ladies in 67th overall and second FV40 in [67:54], Saran Jones was next back in 74:48 for 145th with Jill Horsburgh not far behind in 150th in 76:31 which secured team third.
Alan McIntosh, Alistair Robertson and Kate Kitchin were the clubs representative’s at the King’s Buildings five-mile race in Edinburgh on Saturday.
Alistair Robertson came home in 29 minutes 14 seconds for 28th place overall and fourth Male Junior.
Alan was 62nd in 32:04 with Kate 114th in 32:31.
Shane Fenton
