Borders xc/Devilla/Run with the Wind

The Borders Cross Country Series continued at Galashiels and LRC were once again represented by the Eades family. On this occasion it was Mairi Eades who grabbed the limelight finishing first female junior in 32m 54s. Both David and Lorna Eades finished in 4th place in their respective male and female over-50 categories.

540 runners were at the Scottish Police College at Tulliallan 0n Sunday which was the starting point for the 15k Devilla Forest Trail Race. Barry McComish in 16th place was the first Lothian vest home with Christine MacVarish 6th in the female category. LRC finishers were,16 Barry McComish 61.14,64 Paul Young 67.15, 85 & 6F Christine McVarish 69.35,110 Calum Ross 71.51, 342 Kirst Gray 1:28.58.

The overall race winner was Steve Feltblower,Falkirk 54.05.

In the Run with the Wind Half Marathon at Strathaven,Thomas Taylor finished well up the field in 18th position in 1:26.35 while in the women’s race Shona Young came home in 1:40.18 for 14th place. The respective male and female winners were John Sharp,Inverclyde AC 1:12.31 and Sheena Logan,Fife AC 1:24.23.
