Masters medals for club quartet

Lothian Running Club’s Masters squad followed up their bronze medals at the East District Championships with medals of the same colour at the National Cross Country Relay Championships at Cumbernauld on Saturday.The quartet of Malcolm Lang, Alan Knowles, Barry McComish and Colin Partridge finished in third place behind the teams from Corstorphine AAC and Cambuslang Harriers. This is the first time that the LRC men have been on the podium at the National XC relay championships. The club also fielded teams in the Senior Men’s and Junior Girls races.

Masters Men[4 x 4k]- 3rd Malcolm Lang 13.38, Alan Knowles 14.41, Barry McComish 15.20. Colin Partridge 14.40.Total time 58m 19s. 29 teams took part.

Senior Men[4 x 4k]-Robbie Kennedy 14.26, Owen Williams 14.58, Alan Cunningham 16.34, Brian Lees 16.15. Total time 62m13s.

Junior Girls[3 x 2.5k]-42 Eilidh Howard 11.40, Robyn McDonald 11.02, Hannah Steel 11.30.Total time 34.12. 82 took part.
