Max and Sarah help East to District XC titles.

Both Max McNeil and Sarah Inglis were points scorers as the East District claimed victory in both the Men’s and Women’s races at the Scottish Inter-District Cross Country Championship at Holyrood Park in Edinburgh on Saturday.

The event which was part of the Great Edinburgh International XC meeting saw teams from East, West, North and Scottish students do battle with the top six finishers for each region scoring points.

The Men’s race which was over an 8k course saw Max finish 11th overall and 4th East finisher in 26 minutes 48 seconds. In the 6k Women’s race, Sarah crossed the finish line in 9th place and 3rd East runner in 23 minutes 24 seconds.

Team standings were

Mens-East 50pts, West 55pts, Scottish Students 80pts,North 189 pts.

Women- East 52pts, West 58pts, Scottish Students 110pts, North 167pts.

In the Great Winter 5k run the club’s William Francis finished 295th in 23m 55s.
