Edel runner up in opening East League match.

Edel Mooney missed out by a mere 3 seconds in claiming victory for Lothian Running Club in the Senior Women’s race in the first match of the East District Cross Country League at Stirling University on Saturday. Edel covered the 6 kilometre course in 21 minites 34 seconds in finishing in 2nd place behind race winner Morag MacLarty, Central AC, 21.31. Edel’s excellent run also saw her place first female veteran.With Mhairi Inglis placing 35th and Saran Jones 62nd the Lothian trio finished in 7th place in the team competition.

It was also a 7th place finish for the Senior Men’s team, LRC had 13 runners in the 9k race with the first six finishers counting towards team points. Max McNeil was the first club finisher in 10th place, he was followed over the line by 50th Malcolm Lang,57th Colin Partridge, 64th Andrew King,82nd Euan McInnes and 116th E Williams.
