PB’s FOR MUM & DAUGHTER, 2nd PLACE FOR ROSS AT PARKRUN

Mother and daughter Mags and Lana Turnbull both set new PB’s at the 16th running of the weekly Edinburgh Parkrun.

Lana who was running at the event for the 8th time set new figures last week of 20 minutes 17 seconds but smashed that time by an astonishing 21 seconds covering the 5k course along the murky Edinburgh waterfront in 19 minutes 56 seconds.

This placed the Lothian runner 25th overall, 2nd female and 1st Junior female [15-19]. Mags set a new time of 24 minutes 17 seconds to place 85th overall and 13th female.

There were excellent runs in the mens race from both Ross Milne and Scott Balfour, Ross[30-34] finished runner up in 16 minutes 16 seconds only 4 seconds behind winner Ray Ward,[H.B.T.] while Scott was 11th overall and 1st [MV 60-64] crossing the finish line in 18 minutes 42 seconds.

A total of 167 runners completed the course this week.
Since the event began 16 club runners have taken part for a total of 54 runs.
