East silver for Jo as club vets claim podium places
There was a large turn out of Lothian Running Club members in Sunday’s Jin Dingwall Round the Houses 10k in Grangemouth, and they enjoyed a fair bit of success with a number of top three placings in the various age categories.
Pride of place goes to Jo Williams who was on the podium with an excellent third place finish in the Senior Women’s Race, the race also incorporated the East District 10k road championship which saw Jo claim the silver medal.
The Lothian runner crossed the finish line at Grangemouth Stadum in 36 minutes 10 seconds, which was a seasons best, victory went to Morag McLarty-Millar, Central AC 33.42 who also took the East title, runner up spot went to Annabel Simpson, Glasgow Uni 35.14 who was the victor the Scottish Universities championship. Andrea Cameron and Shona Young were the 2nd and 3rd LRC finishers, the latter was also runner up in the F50 category.
In the Senior Men’s race the leading LRC finisher was Josh Dack in 37th place . he was followed home by 93rd Owen Williams and 95th Ryan Kirkland.
Stewart Laing who came home in 99th place overall was the leading over-55 finisher.
Club veterans Cliff Dicker and Ian Leggett placed third in the in the M70 and M75 categories. The Men’s title was won by Commonwealth Games bronze medallist Robbie Simpson, Deeside Runners 30.03.
