Sarah goes 10th on Scots all-time 10,000 metres list with superb PB run in San Diego
Running in a high quality Pacific Pursuit 10k race in San Diego, CA this morning[Monday] Sarah Inglis ran the 10th fastest track 10,000 metres all time by a female Scot as she crossed the line in 4th place in 32 minutes 36.89 seconds. This was the quickest over the distance by a Scot since May 2017.
It was also a PB for the Lothian Running Club member with her time almost 2 minutes quicker than her previous best of 34:29.29 set in the Highgate Harriers Night of 10ks meeting at Parliament Hill in 2016.
There was a 1st and 2nd in the race for the Hoka Naz Elite team with victory going to Kellyn Taylor in 32.13.54 ahead of Steph Bruce 32:15.88, the latter part of the race Sarah who was running for the Langley Mustangs was involved in a 4 way battle for the minor places and just lost out for 3rd to Anne Marie Blaney [Brooks Hanson’s] 32:31.50.
The Pacific Pursuit was established by the NorCal Distance Project to provide an early opportunity for athletes to chase qualifying marks heading into the 2020 Olympic Track Trials of which the qualifying window opened on January 1st.
