Livingston 150th parkrun
433 runners helped Livingston parkrun celebrate their 150th running of the event on Saturday morning, this total has only been bettered when 507 toed the line for the 100th milestone almost exactly a year ago on 18th November. Since the inaugural run on the 8th January 2016, 5,647 runners have pounded the 5k course within Almondvale Park. 274 clubs have been represented at the event, none more so than the Lothian Running Club with 126 different starters of all ages for a total of 3,009 runs. The blue vests hold a number of the highest statistics at the event, including the top three first finishers, Lana Turnbull heads the list with 35 followed by Jo Williams 28 and Josh Dack 25.
Sarah Inglis holds the women’s course record with a time of 17m 06s set in race #61 in February 2017 while Alistair Hay, Central AC tops the men’s list with a time of 15m.23s in event #132 in July this year. For the record the leading finishers in race #150 were Male Josh Dack 17m.35s, LRC, Phil Buckley, Harmeny AC 18.00, Alan Knowles, LRC 18.00. Female, Yvonne Crilley 20m 18s. Hannah Steel 20.38, Lana Turnbull all LRC.
As well as a large turn out the club provided pacers during the race as well as refreshments afterwards.
