Scottish 5k medals for Jo & Yvonne

The medal winning run of Lothian Running Club’s Jo Williams continued on Friday evening with a 3rd place finish in the Scottish 5k Road Running Championship held along the Edinburgh waterfront at Silverknowes. Williams crossed the finish line behind Annabel Simpson,Fife AC and Jenny Bannerman,Inverness Harriers in a time of 16 minutes 55 seconds which was also a PB.

Another LRC female athlete who is in a fine vein of form is veteran Yvonne Crilley who was the leading over-50 in the race with a time of 19 minutes 23 seconds.

The Lothian club had a large representation of 22 runners in the race with their top finisher being Robbie Kennedy on 50th place. A total of 182 runners broke 18 minutes including half a dozen from LRC. The Men’s title was won by Lachlan Oates, Shettleston.
