Gold and 2 Bronze for LRC trio on day 1 of East Championships.

There was a gold medal and two bronze medals for LRC athletes on the first day of the FPSG East District Track & Field Championships at Grangemouth.

In the Senior Women’s Javelin, Nicola Kellock’s throw of 36.64m was just short of her PB but was good enough to claim the gold medal ahead of Paula Dunn,Dundee Hawkhill and Marie Dobson,Aberdeen AC.

In the Senior Men’s 800 metres, Robbie Kennedy won Heat 2 of 2 in 2:01.43 before going on to place 3rd in the final behind Ewan Dyer,Pitreavie AC and Michael Ferguson,Aberdeen AC with a new PB of 1:57.25.

Hannah Steel replicated Robbie’s performances in the Girls Under-15 800 metres, winning Heat 1 of 2 in 2:27.01, then improving her time to 2:25.63 in finishing in 3rd place in the final behind Anna Dalglish,Fife AC and Mhairi Arnott, Corstorphine AAC.
