Glenmore 24 Race
Lothian Running Club’s Shona Young was the first female finisher at the Glenmore 24 race.
The Glenmore 24 Trail Race is Scotland’s first 24 hour off-road ultra marathon. Runners have 24 hours to see how many loops of the four mile forest route they can complete. Based just outside Aviemore in the Scottish Highlands, the race takes place on forest trails by Loch Morlich in the shadow of the Cairngorms. The route itself has some stunning views. In 2015 Shona led the ladies race for 21 hours before eventually finishing in third place, she made no mistake on this occasion to take the women’s title and also finishing in 5th place overall.
