Cross Country Team Challenge
Lothian Running Club men’s and women’s teams both finished well up in the final standings of the Cross Country Team Challenge.
The Cross Country Team Challenge (formerly the Short Course Grand Prix) combines a number of team events into a series with the aim of encouraging clubs to enter more team events. The series consists of three events, the National XC Relay Championships, the District Relay Championships and the Scottish 4k XC Championship.
The LRC men’s team picked up 8pts at the National relays, 2pts at the Districts and 5pts at the 4k for a final total of 15pts which placed them 14th of the 38 teams that scored points.
Despite not scoring at the 4k the club ladies finished in 12th place out of 41 teams, scoring an excellent 13 pts at the National relays plus 3pts at the Districts for a total of 16pts.
The men’s title was won by Inverclyde AC with Central AC winning the women’s.
