Top 10 finishes for men & women at East Relays
Lothian Running Club’s men’s amd women’s teams both had top 10 finishes as the 2014-15 cross country season got underway on Sunday with the East District Relay Championships at Peebles.
The club fielded two teams in the 4 x 4000 metres mens event with the A team finishing in 9th place of the 43 full teams who completed the course at Peebles High School. Max McNeil led off the blue vests, and as he has done all season produced another fine run to hand over to Malcolm Lang in 3rd place, Malcolm then handed on to 3rd leg runner Daniel McLaughlin in 7th place, the latter maintained the same position as he sent Colin Partridge off on the anchor leg and he brought the team home in a creditable 9th place in 57 minutes 27 seconds behind winners Central AC.
The B team of Owen Williams, Alan Moffat, Kenton Jones and A.N. Other finished in 30th place in 55 minutes 51 seconds.
The club was also represented by an incomplete veterans team of Martin Leadbetter, Stuart Kerr and Kenny Mearns who ran three of the legs.
