Scottish 5k Road Race Championship.
Lothian Running Club were well represented at the Scottish Athletics 5k Road Race Championships at Silverknowes, Edinburgh on Wednesday evening.
The club had 13 runners in the Men’s race and one in the Women’s.
Male club captain Max McNeil continued his recent fine vein of form with an excellent 8th place finish covering the relatively flat course along the Edinburgh waterfront in 15 minutes 08 seconds.
Malcolm Lang was the next LRC man home in 45th place in 16m 46s with Colin Partridge 56th in 16m 58s.
Scott Balfour finished runner up in the M60 category in 19m 44s which also placed him 163rd overall. The club’s only female participant was Jocelyn Moar who finished in 40th place in the Women’s race and 180th overall in 20m 08s.
The Men’s title went to Tewelde Mengisteab, Shettleston Harriers[14m 40s] with Morag MacLarty, Central AC taking the Women’s crown with a new course record of [16m 14s]. A total of 271 runners completed the course.
