MAX MAGIC ON NIGHT OF PB’s in Glasgow
Saturday night was a good one for all four Lothian Running Club athletes who were in action at the Glasgow Athletics Association Miler Meet at Hutcheson’s Grammar School in Glasgow.
The meeting consisted of nine mixed 1500 metres races and two mixed 5000 metres races, with the Lothian quartet in the latter.
Max McNeil and Sarah Inglis, who is currently home on a break from studying and competing in Canada were in Race A with Colin Partridge and Owen Williams in the B Race.
Max turned in what was probably his best performance of his career by racing to victory in the A Race in a magnificent time of 14 minutes 56.17 seconds which was a new PB by almost 40 seconds and also moves him up to 9th place in the Scottish Power of 10 rankings.
Sarah, who was the only female in the A Race ran the fastest 5000 metres time on the night by a female, her 7th place finish in 16 minutes 31.08 seconds was a PB of almost 27 seconds and sees her rise to number 3 in the Scottish rankings for the 5000 metres distance. This was Sarah’s 7th PB over seven different distances this year.
There was also track PB’s for both Colin Partridge and Owen Williams in the B Race, Colin finished in an excellent 2nd place in 16 minutes 54.05 seconds with Owen in 7th crossing the finish line in 17 minutes 54.38 seconds.
