INGLIS BREAKS MILE RECORD AT RALPH VERNACCHIA
BELLINGHAM, Washington – Trinity Western’s Sarah Inglis (Falkirk, Scotland) led the Spartans track and field team at Western Washington University’s Ralph Vernacchia meet Saturday as she set the meet record in the mile with a winning time of 4:46.09 Saturday at Civic Stadium.
Inglis’ time, which was more than 12 seconds ahead of second place, bettered the previous record of 4:58.60, which was set by Seattle University’s Madison Davis at last year’s meet.
While Inglis was the Spartans record-breaker, it was an impressive overall day for TWU, with the team capturing a total of seven gold medals.
