LAKELAND TEST FOR CLUB DUO

Two of Lothian Running Club veteran female members have spent an exhausting weekend in the Lake District taking part in two of the gruelling events in the 2013 Lakeland Trail Race Series.

Saran Jones and Jill Horsburgh contested the Ullswater 14k Trail run on Sunday while Jill also ran the Helvelyn 15k Trail & Challenge Race on Saturday.

In the latter Jill finished 39th out of 251 finishers in the Womens category with her time of 54 minutes 59 seconds also placing her 2nd on the Lady Vet 50 age group.

In the Ullswater event on Sunday, Saran completed the course in 1 hour 24 minutes 14 seconds for 78th place overall and 4th Lady Vet 50 with Jill in 97th in 1 hour 32 minutes 23 seconds and 6th Lady Vet 50. There was a total of 118 finishers.
