Club ladies excel for 3rd place at Alloa

Lothian Running Club’s senior ladies squad excelled to finish in 3rd place in Saturday’s East District Cross Country League match at Lornshill Academy, Alloa.

There was an excellent turn out of over 20 blue vests at the event with 12 in the senior mens race , eight in the women’s and two in the junior races.

Not for the first time however it was the ladies who grabbed the headlines with 4th Edel Mooney, 7th Chloe Cox and 24th Jo Williams the team scorers on the day. The ladies squad now sit in 2nd place in the overall classification after two matches. The third and final match in the series takes place at Broxburn in January.

The club’s senior men’s team finished in 7th place and are 9th overall, their team scorers on Saturday were 40th Malcolm Lang, 58th Euan McInnes, 60th Colin Partridge, 70th Daniel McLaughlin. 88th Graeme Ackland and 102nd Donald Shaw.

Robyn McDonald contested the Girls Under-11 Race and Cara McCafferty the Girls Under15/ Under-17 contest.
