Top 10 finish for club ladies.
Lothian Running Club ladies trio of Jo Williams, Lana Turnbull and Edel Mooney finished in an excellent 9th place out of 62 teams in the Senior Womens race at the Scottish Athletics Cross Country Relay Championships at Cumbernauld on Saturday.
Jo led the team off and completed her leg in 15th place in 15m 51s, Lana took over the baton for the second leg and maintained 15th position with a time of 16m 27s as she handed over to Edel to run the anchor leg, Edel went on to run the 10th fastest leg of the day and as she crossed the finish line had elevated the team up to 9th place.
Lynne Murray ran a solo leg which she completed in 17m 37s.
The club fielded two teams in the Senior Mens Race one in the Open category and one in the veteran division.
The [a] team of Max McNeil [12.37], Alan Moffat[16.01], Andrew Fish [15.37] and Paul Young[14.41] finished in 44th position with the [b] quartet of Donald Shaw[15.35], Stuart Kennedy [23.03], Ted Finch [20.41] and Kenny Mearns [19.04] in 104th.
