FEMALES TO THE FORE AT PARKRUNS

Lothian Running Club members won the female category’s at both the Edinburgh and Falkirk Parkruns on Saturday morning.

At the Falkirk event, Shona Young was the first female to finish in 23 minutes 07 seconds which also placed her 45th overall, Paul, the brother of Shona was the first club male home in 11th place in 20m 19s, he was followed in 28th by Alan Robertson who recorded a new PB of 21m 42s for the 5k course within Callendar Park.

Just for a change Chloe Cox won the Edinburgh race – for the 28th time – this week in a time of 17m 49s which also placed her an excellent 3rd overall. Clubmate Jo Williams who won the previous week followed Chloe home in 2nd place and 15th overall with a new PB for the waterfront course of 18m 54s, and with Lana Turnbull crossing the line in 46th place and 6th female in 20m 01s it meant the clubs three lady members beat the six gents members who were in the race. David Mabon in 55th place headed the male contingent.
