SUCCESS FOR HOSTS AT DECHMONT LAW
Lothian Running Club hosted a successful 10k Trail Race at Dechmont Law on Sunday.
And it was the blue vests of the hosts that marched off with the lions share of the prizes with wins in both the men’s and women’s individual races, the women’s team event as well as a number of category wins.
Max McNeil produced probably his best run of the season to claim the mens title in 35 minutes 29 seconds while in the women’s race Edel Mooney once again impressed to finish 6th overall and 1st female in 38m 43 seconds.
Edel also led her team mates Christine McVarish and Lynne Murray to victory in the women’s team contest with men’s team of Max McNeil, John Malcolm and Euan McInnes finishing runners up behind the team from Hunters Bog Trotters.
There was a club 1 – 2 in the men over 60 category with Mike Lieberman finishing just ahead of Alan Robertson. Jill Horsburgh was the victor in the over 50 female age group.
In the Junior 3.5km race Robbie Kennedy finished runner up, Iain Horsburgh was 7th overall and 3rd in the under-15 age group. In the girls race Bethany Nelson finished 9th oveall and 1st under-15 with Cara McCafferty 11th and 1st under-17.
The Helen McDonald Memorial Trophy for the first female over-40 from the club went to Christine McVarish.
