CLUB TRIO CONTEST GRUELLING EVENT

D33-DEESIDE WAY ULTRA RACE

 A Lothian Running Club veteran member finished 3rd in his category in one of  Scotland’s most gruelling races.

Scott Balfour, who along with Alan Robertson and Finlay Slane bravely completed the D33 Deeside Way Ultra Race.

The event which is descibed as 33 miles of ‘no frills racing’ takes the runners out and back along the Deeside Way starting and finishing in Aberdeen’s Duthie Park.

Scott completed the course in 4 hours 45 minutes 42 seconds to place 59th overall and 3rd in the Male Super Veteran category. Not far behind Scott in 70th position was Finlay Slane in a time of 4h 54m 38s with Alan Robertson 113th in 5h 16m 15s.

252 runners completed the course.
