RUNNER UP & PB FOR SARAH AT UNI ROAD RACE
The Glasgow University 5 mile Road Race
Lothian Running Club’s Sarah Inglis turned in a fine performance to record a PB in finishing in the runner’s up spot in the female category of The Glasgow University 5 Mile Road Race on Saturday.
The event is a long-running and popular race on the outskirts of the City of Glasgow. With the start in the Garscube Sports Complex, it then follows a 2 lap course round quiet roads with a good balance of flat running and some hilly sections.
Sarah who placed 18th overall and 2nd female of the 156 finishers produced a new PB for the 5 mile distance of 28 minutes 37 seconds which was 9 seconds quicker than her previous best set over the same course in 2011. Finishing 21 seconds ahead of Sarah and winning the Women’s race was Joasia Zakrzeski[Dumfries AC] 28m 17s].
Last August Joasia and Sarah made up the two runner Scottish team that won the Frank Duffy 10 mile race in Dublin.
