CLUB QUARTET ATTAIN XC GRAND PRIX POINTS

SCOTTISH ATHLETICS CROSS COUNTRY GRAND PRIX

Four club members picked up points in the Scottish Athletics 2012/13 Cross-Country Grand Prix.

Edel Mooney, Chloe Cox and Sarah Inglis in the women’s series and Max McNeil in the men’s.

Points are accrued over four events, the Scottish 4k Championship, the District Championships, Inter-District Championship and the National Championship.

£4000 prize money was up for grabs, ranging from £750 for the winners down to £20 for 10th place.

With 33 points Edel just missed out on a prize, finishing in 12th place, Chloe picked up 8 points to finish in 34th place, with Sarah’s 5 points placing her 38th.

A total of 54 females put points on the board.

51 male runners gathered points over the four events with Maxs’ 8 points placing him 35th.

The overall Grand Prix winners were Wegese Tafese,[Ron Hill Cambuslang] and Elspeth Curran [Kilbarchan], both had winning totals of 77 points.
