PORTOBELLO PROMETHON

Lothian Running Club had three runners amongst the huge field of 315  who chose to blow away the New Year celebration cob-webs by contesting the Portobello Promethon 4 mile Race and Fun Run on New Years Day along the waterfront at Seafield.
Just as 12 month’s previous, Gerry McCafferty was the first club runner home this time in 53rd place in 25 minutes 16 seconds, 49 seconds quicker than 12 months ago, he was closely followed by in 83r Brian Reid[26.41] and 93rd Mike Lieberman[26.58], the latter was also 3rd in the M60 category.

In the 1.5 mile Junior run, Iain Horsburgh followed up his 2012 win by once again crossing the finish line in first place clocking 10 minutes 19 seconds.
