INDOOR PB FOR MAX

INDOOR 1500M PB FOR MAX
Lothian Running Club’s Max McNeil ran an indoor 1500 metres PB on Saturday at the McCains National Indoor Open at the new Emirates Arena in Glasgow.

The McCain National Indoor Open event is non-Championship and was run as an Open Graded meeting. Athletes competed in mixed gender track and field events based on seeded performances.

Over 1000 runners from club’s all over Great Britain were taking part at the new venue.

Running in Race [B] of the 1500 metres, Max recorded a time of 4 minutes 13.12 seconds in finishing in 3rd place behind Falkirk Victoria’s Dale Colley and Mark Gardner, Lancaster & Dist AC. This shaved a few hundredth’s of a second off his previous best time of 4m 13.6.

The only other runner to represent the club at the meeting was junior under-15 member Emma Mackie who ran in race 26 of the 60 metres and race 38 of the 200 metres, in the latter she ran a fine race to finish in 3rd place in 31m 14s, while in the 60m Emma finished in 7th place in 9.37 seconds, and is sure to benefit from the experience of running at such a high profile meeting which saw a large proportion of Scotland’s top athletes in action.
