CLUB MEMBERS ALL SET FOR MASTERS XC

 The club look’s set to be represented in all three races at this Saturday’s Scottish National Masters Cross Country Championship’s at Forres.

Half a dozen of the club’s veteran members will make the 330 miles round trip to compete at the event which takes place in the town’s Grant Park.

The Women’s-Over-35 race has attracted the biggest entry with 274 declared for the 6400 metres race. The club will be represented in this race by Edel Mooney who took the over-35 title at the East District Championship at Cupar in December.

The Over-65 Men’s race which is incorporated into the women’s event sees 17 runners down to take part with Ian Leggett carrying the hopes of the club.

The Men’s 35-64 race will be run over 8000 metres, Kenny Mearns, Stephen Malcolm, Colin Partridge and Graeme Ackland are the club’s participants in a total entry of 181 runners.

Edel Mooney set for Masters challenge

 The timetable (now amended to over 35 instead of over 40) is:
1.30 pm – Women (over 35) and Men M65 and over: 6,000 metres and
2.15 pm – Men (over 35) up to Men M60: 8,000 metres.
The Women’s races and the Men M65 and over races will run together.
Teams are: Women 3 to score, Men 4 to score.
1st Team medals will be awarded for combined Men M50, M55, M60 – 3 to score.
Age category medals (1st, 2nd and 3rd) will be awarded in each age category regardless of number of athletes entered or competing.
