CLUB DUO IN NEW YEAR ACTION.

GREENMANTLE DASH

A couple of club members have been in action in the first week of the New Year in the hills and indoors.
Robin Morris contested the Greenmantle Dash Hill Race from Broughton Brewery nr Biggar on January 2. Robin covered the 3.3km course with a climb of 200 metres in 25 minutes 18 seconds which placed him 53rd overall and runner-up in the M60 category.
The club have had success in this race in the past, Scott Fraser who holds the course record won the Men’s race in 2006, 2007 and 2010, with Mhairi Inglis triumphing in the Women’s race in 2007.

MILER MEET 3000M [Emirates Arena]

 As a warm up to running in Saturday’s Inter-District XC Championship at Holyrood Park, Max McNeil had a run out in the Men’s [A] 3000 metres race at the ‘Miler Meet’ at the new Emirates Arena on Jan 3. In a highly competitive field Max finished in 6th place in 9m 13.09s.
