Time Running Out to enter Edinburgh Marathon

Time Running Out For Edinburgh Marathon

18 DEC2012

Edinburgh marathon start

Time is running out for those looking to enter next year’s Edinburgh marathon with organisers warning that standard full places for the race will sell out soon. The success of last year’s 10th anniversary race has inspired record numbers of runners to sign up for the full marathon on May 26, 2013.

Entries are currently filling at over 500 places per week, and with Edinburgh marathon joining the world’s elite road races by becoming the first event in Scotland to be officially recognised by the IAAF, there is expected to be a rush of entries. This means places for the full marathon will close on or before the end of 2012.

Race organiser, Neil Kilgour, said: “Come join us before time is up. I believe we have the fastest route in Europe and maybe the world. This is proven year in year out in the times achieved. If you’re looking to get a personal best time then Edinburgh is the place to be.

“Edinburgh Marathon Festival has it all – a great city that acts as a stunning backdrop to the events and a programme of races that means that everyone is catered for from kids to veterans. We’re looking forward to next year and welcoming back the thousands of runners who’ve supported us over the years plus the thousands who will be joining us for the first time.”

Entries are open for the 2013 event, which takes place on 25 and 26 May. To enter go to the Edinburgh Marathon Festival website and join the runners’ chat o
