SIMON WAKE COMRIE HILLS RELAY RACE
Sunday’s Simon Wake Comrie Hills Relay Race in Perthshire saw Lothian RC field a mixed team of three males and two females.
The Simon Wake Comrie Hills Relay is a 42k race with 2110m of ascent, run in four stages for teams of five runners. The highly scenic route starts and finishes in Laggan Park in Comrie village, and follows a route up and around the hills surrounding Glen Lednock.Legs 2 and 3 cover rough mountain terrain while legs 1 and 4 although challenging, are closer to trail races and are fully marked.
The team of Sarah Inglis, Saran Jones, Kenny Mearns, Edel Mooney and Paul Young completed the four legs in a total time of 4 hours 7 minutes 9 seconds.
Leg 1[11km-527m climb] Sarah Inglis 53m 23s, Leg 2 [7km-400m] Saran Jones and Kenny ,Mearns, 1h 06m 19s, Leg 3 [12.6km-712m climb Rdel Mooney, 1h 12m 48s], Leg 4 [11km-370m Paul Young 54m 39s.
Overall the Lothian team finished 13th of the 32 teams and 4th in the mixed category.
