FOUR IN A ROW FOR EDEL AT CRIEFF

Lothian Running Club’s Edel Mooney recorded her fourth win in succession at Sunday’s Famous Grouse Crieff 10k.

 It is a multi-terrain race run over a scenic route with 350m total ascent, starting from Morrison’s Academy sports ground, the course goes out over Laggan Hill past the Baird Monument and back along the banks of the River Earn via Lady Mary’s Walk.

Edel covered the course in 40 minutes 11 seconds, slightly slower than her course PB of [38.39] set in 2009. In the overall classification Edel finished in 10th place.

The club were well represented in the race and finishing just ahead of Edel in 7th place overall was the club’s first male runner home Euan McIntosh in 40 minutes 11 seconds, next home was  Jim Alexander in [46m 47s] almost two and a half minutes quicker than his time of the previous year. Suzie Hannah finished 11th female and 74th overall in [49m 30s] withMags Turnbull who was setting a  PB of[59m 55s] in finishing 42 female and 177th overall. 229 runners completed the course.
