SARAH QUALIFIES FOR FINAL

Running in one of the very first track races in the new Olympic Stadium on Friday evening,Sarah Inglis, finished in 7th place in a field of 20 runners in heat two of the Women’s 5000 metres.

Her time of 17 minutes 33.40 seconds was good enough to qualify as a fastest loser for Sunday’s final. The fastest qualifier from the two heats was Charlotte Purdue with a new BUCS record.
Sunday’s final is due to take place at 3.16pm.
The 4 day meeting is the official test event for the London Olympics.
