PARKRUN PERFECTION

It was near Parkrun perfection for Lothian Running Club members at the weekend [1st Oct] as they took the male and female titles at the events at both Edinburgh and Falkirk.

To add icing to the cake three of the wins also came with new PB’s for the respective courses.
At Falkirk, there was a club 1 – 2 with Brian Turner [17.34] coming home 5 seconds clear of Colin Meek [17.39] both recording PB’s of 10 and 17 seconds repectively.

 

Finishing in 9th place overall Lana Turnbull was the winer of the female category  covering the 5k course within Callendar Park in [21.06] a whopping 42 seconds quicker than her previous best.

Other club placings and times were, 23rd & 4th F Jill Horsburgh [23.16], 43rd Ted Finch [26.08], 46th & 11th F Mags Turnbull [27.00] PB, 82nd & 37th F Valerie Finch [38.07]. 83 Ran.

The success was replicated at Edinburgh with Ross Milne leading home a field of 159 runners in a time of [16.23], on this ocassion it was a club female 1 – 2 with Edel Mooney recording a new PB of [17.49] in taking the womens title ahead of Chloe Cox [18.16], overall the duo finished 9th and 13 th respectively with Edel’s time for the 5k along the Edinburgh waterfront 45 seconds faster than her previous best for the course.

Making up the club’s representation were 40th & 8th F  Jocelyn Moar [20.28] and 55th & 13th F Leanne Webster [21.50].
