JUNIOR HOME INTERNATIONAL HILL TRIALS

Lothian Running Club’s Matthew, Samuel and Chris Galloway had a succesful day at Sunday’s Junior Home International Hill Trials at Menstrie in Clackmannanshire.
Matthew claimed victory in the Boys Under-14 race which was run over a 2.6k course with a 150 metres climb. The Lothian runner crossed the finish line in 11 minutes 15 seconds, exactly one minute behind was brother Samuel who came home in 5th place in 12 minutes 15 seconds.
Victory in the Boys Under-16 race went to older brother Chris, this race was over a longer course of 5.2k with a climb of 370 metres which Chris successfully negotiated in 25 minutes 35 seconds.
The event was the Scottish trial and main selection race for the Scottish Athletics team for the Junior Home International between Scotland, England, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland which take place on Saturday 24th September in Snowdonia.
