FORTH VALLEY AVOID THE DROP

Club duo Max McNeil and Lana Turnbull represented the composite Forth Valley team in the fourth and final match of the Northern Premier Division in the 2011 National Junior Athletics League at Gateshead Stadium on Sunday.
Max contested the 3000m [A] race and finished 5th in a time of 10 minutes 01,07 seconds. To help gain much needed points for the team Lana contested a number of events, she finished in 6th place in the 800m [A] race in 2 minutes 31.22 seconds, next up was the 1500m steeplechase where she came home in 6th place in 6 minutes 09.14 seconds.
Lana also had 8th place finishes in the Javelin and 4 x 400 metres relay.
Despite ending up last of the 8 teams on the day all points gained were crucial as the Forth Valley team managed to stave off relegation by a narrow margin finishing 5th overall.
