SARAH LINES UP WITH ELITE LADIES

Anyone tuning in this morning to watch the BBC’s coverage of the BUPA Great Manchester 10k run would have proudly seen the club’s Sarah Inglis take her place in the line up alongside some of the World’s top athletes for the start of the ‘elite ladies’ race.
Setting out from Portland Street in wet conditions Sarah passed the 5k point at Old Trafford in 17 minutes 12 seconds before going on to finish in 21st place in Deansgate in 35 minutes 55 seconds.
Sarah finished 2nd Scot behind 10th placed Laura Whittle, the race was won by Helen Clitheroe an athlete Sarah has raced against in the past both outdoor and indoor.
Nearly 40,000 runners took part in the event.
It was a great weekend to be in Manchester with United clinching the Premier League title and City winning the FA Cup both on Saturday while on Sunday the Great Manchester Run coincided with the Great Salford Swim followed by the Great City Games.
