Updated: 2010-09-05
Sunday’s Blairgowrie Highland Games proved to be a happy hunting ground for the Lothian Running Club members who were in action with all who competed coming away with a prize.

The opening event on the programme was the 4.8km/400 metres Hill Race.
The Men’s race saw Robert Inglis battle it out with Lake District Fell runner Gareth Hird, the duo were first out the arena and also first back, with Robert gaining the upper hand on his English rival in the latter stages of the race to claim victory by 20 metres crossing the winning line in 19 minutes 24 seconds.

In the Womens event Jill Horsburgh produced a fine performance in finishing runner up behind Scottish Junior hill running internationalist 15 year old Scout Adkin Moorfoot Runners.

On the track John McStewart Armadale won his heat in the Open 90 metres before going on to finish fourth in the final.

The clubs youth runners were also among the prizes, in the 800 metres handicap Hannah Stewart finished in third place with brother and sister Iain and Alice Horsburgh in fifth and sixth respectively.

The trio were all in the prizes again in the 1600 metres handicap with Iain runner up, Hannah fourth and Alice fifth.

The curtain comes down on the 2010 Games season this Saturday with the Pitlochry Highland Games.
